Flamingo Chinese Sausage (Lap Cheong)
Available Sizes & SKU
- 12 oz (GF142)
Flamingo Chinese Sausage brings the deep, savory-sweet character of classic lap cheong to your kitchen. These slender, air-dried pork links carry the wine-tinged, gently caramelized flavor that defines Cantonese cured sausage, with firm bite and a glossy mahogany color. Thin-sliced on the bias, they perfume a pot of clay-pot rice or weave through fried rice beautifully.
Always cook before eating: steam slices over rice until plump and translucent, pan-fry until the edges crisp, or stir-fry with greens, mushrooms, and garlic. They also fold perfectly into sticky rice and lo mai gai. Cooked and packaged in the USA at USDA- and FDA-registered facilities with no added trans fats. Available in a 12 oz (GF142) package.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is lap cheong? +
Lap cheong (Chinese 臘腸; Vietnamese lạp xưởng) is a dried, cured pork sausage with a savory-sweet, wine-tinged flavor and a firm bite. The links are cooked before eating, not sliced raw like salami.
Is this sausage ready to eat out of the package? +
No. Although it is cured and dried, Flamingo Chinese Sausage must be fully cooked before eating. Steam, pan-fry, or stir-fry the slices until heated through.
What dishes work best with this sausage? +
It shines in clay-pot rice, fried rice, and sticky rice, and pairs well with sauteed Chinese greens or a simple steamed-rice bowl.
How should I store it? +
Keep it frozen until you are ready to use it, then thaw in the refrigerator. Cook any thawed sausage rather than refreezing it.
